Samsung Introduces 16-Camera Digital Color
Duplex Multiplexer

Secaucus NJ, April 4, 2001 - Samsung's new 16-Camera Digital Color Duplex Multiplexer allows viewing and recording independently with separate multiplex record/display live and record/playback modes. A 2xZoom feature allows you to conduct closer analysis of critical events and provide improved documentation with seven individual zoom steps.

The new multiplexer allows the user to design his own multiscreen viewing options by selecting from four sets of 4 displays, two sets of 9 displays or one set of 16 displays. In either live or playback modes the user can display full screen sequential switching, 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4 formats. High-resolution digital processing sends 720x480 digital pixel images to the VCR.

Other highlights of the new SMD-1610 include the following:

· 16 Channel alarm input function, enables freezing a picture in both playback and live modes.

· NTSC / PAL compatible: The SMD-1610 will automatically change settings for input signal.

· A motion detection function - Zone area: 15(H) x 15(H); Sensitivity: 5 levels.

Samsung also offers the 16-camera multiplexer in a B&W model (SMD-1610b). For uses requiring a 9-camera multiplexer, they have introduced companion machines -- the SMD-910 (color) and SMD-910b (black & white).
